First, I'm so glad you're here! I'm excited to share my creativity and love for all things handmade with you! Are you ready?

I'm a Work-at-home-Mama and a full time student at university of louisville. I am a combat veteran of the US army and am staunchly patriotic. red, white, and blue, anyone? I have been sewing practically my entire life and my first love was quilting just like my mama!

I think quilts are one of the best things in the world, they keep you warm, snuggle you up, and feel just like a hug! Add babies to quilts and you've got a match made in heaven. Speaking of babies. i moveD into making (mostly) babywearing accessories  because of my own attempts at babywearing when my son was born. At first he hated it- I was slow and the learning curve was long. We used our Tula carrier a ton once he fit well, and the rest is history. babywearing has saved us so many times and i want everyone to try it out! I have moved through the babywearing years and while I still have a passion for sharing that with you, I am making more bags and quilts these days.

I want you to know that each purchase you make helps our little family by paying for classes and giving my son the opportunity to do things like swim lessons and soccer. we truly appreciate the support of our family and hope you love your products!

making handmade items is my passion, and i love sharing some of that fire with you. i look forward to getting to know you better- welcome to the bitty sparrow community!

Why Bitty Sparrow

The name Bitty Sparrow is a little mash-up of life experiences for me. When I was deployed to Iraq for the first time in 2003, I was always amazed that no matter what was going on around us, there were always sparrows flying around. The sparrows I always saw were a little reminder that life goes on, and perserverence is necessary, even in times of war.

Since our son was born, we've called him 'Tiny' so I wanted to incorporate that into the shop name too! Bitty was just another way of saying that, and I think it is such a fun word!
